In the United States no! If you are an adult you will be put on a standard plan which only covers dental emergencies. So that means if you need a filling you will only get a temporary one which falls out eventually.Than you will need to get another one until you keep repeating the process when you’ve had enough and finally submit to paying for a real one because you just can’t take it anymore. The System sucks!! But we musn’t take our troops out of Iraq B.S!!!

My husband’s wisdom teeth are causing a lot of pain. He really needs to have them out but we don’t have dental coverage. Is oral surgery covered by regular insurance or is it included in dental? We have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and we pay for it out of pocket.
If the teeth are fully bony impacted or partial bony impacted, extraction is generally covered under a medical insurance policy.
That’s the key though – fully or partially impacted in the bone. (With wisdom teeth, that’s generally the case.)
You can call your insurance company to confirm whether you have a benefit for impacted teeth, and if so…which oral surgeons are in the network? And then confirm with the provider whether your husband’s teeth are fully or partially bony impacted.

my boyfriend is in desperate need of dental work. he needs surgery to aline his jaw, and crowns, and fillings. you name it the boy needs it. its killing me to watch his teeth wear away. he wont brush them because they are too painful to touch. the problem is he isnt on any kind of dental plans, since his ever so nice parents kicked them off of theirs. he is 19 years old, and cant get coverage through his work, and ive searched for other plans but they wont cover him until he is 21. does anyone know what is the best way to get him dental insurance. im willing to pay whatever it takes to get this done for him, but he needs aprox 10-15000 worth of work so a good plan would realy help. thank you for any ideas. it would really help.

An employee wants to drop his medical and dental coverage today? Is that possible?
I have an employee who wants to drop his medical and dental coverage for him and his family because his wife was recently employed and has better coverage. There is no qualifying event and open enrollment isn’t until August 1st. Is he able to do this? Either way it is February 1st, so his coverage won’t stop until Febuary 28th, so he is responsible for those payments correct?
Where I worked you could drop coverage anytime you wanted to, but if you wanted coverage you had to wait until open enrollment. Once an employee drops coverage, I don’t think he’s responsible for paying any more premiums.
